What if Andy Griffiths took over your morning literacy program . . .

Join us for State Library Victoria’s first annual Book Bash and stream some of the country’s biggest authors live into your classroom for a daily writing workshop!

On Tuesday 13 June, learn how to create memorable characters and bring them to life through awesome illustrations with best-selling author/illustrator Matt Cosgrove (Macca the Alpaca, Epic Fail Tales) and author/designer Eva Amores (Worst Week Ever).

On Wednesday 14 June, hear from Australian writing legend Andy Griffiths (the Just series, the Treehouse series) as he shares his storytelling secrets and tells some of the funniest and silliest jokes from his stories.

On Thursday 15 June, explore poetry writing with Melbourne University’s Poet in Residence Maxine Beneba Clarke (When We Say Black Lives Matter, Fashionista) as she brings back the acrostic poem with style.

These free, daily one-hour sessions will run online at 10am and stream live into your classroom over Zoom. Give your students the opportunity to learn from some spectacular Australian authors, ask all their burning writing questions, and win lots of books!

Book your spot in one, two or all three of the sessions now – spaces are limited! Please note: the Book Bash with Andy Griffiths session is now sold out. To be the first to hear about upcoming schools events, sign up to our quarterly Education News newsletter. Sign up now.

This event will be Auslan interpreted.
