“Fraser Baby”

  • noun. a first or second generation Australian, progeny of migrants to Australia in the years following the dismantling of the White Australia policy.
  • noun. an #immigrant babe with zero f**ks left to give.

Fraser Babies is a new pop musical about rival high school debating teams who break free from the hallowed halls of speech and debate and join forces to let their voices be heard in a different way.

Join us for the Fraser Babies ARVO SHOW, a relaxed showing of songs from the musical supported by Gemma Navarrete and Mohammad Awad. This performance will be relaxed (see FAQ below).

For tickets to the 6pm NIGHT RIOT, please click `here.

Fraser Babies has been showcased at works-in-progress events at Carriageworks, the Seymour Centre, and Hayes Theatre Co and was shortlisted for the APRA AMCOS Professional Development Award. This gig showing is supported by Hayes Theatre Co, Creative Partnerships Australia, patrons of The Joy Offensive, and dozens of generous supporters

Many of Australia’s non-Indigenous inhabitants have an existence that can be largely pinned down to a policy drawn up by a white guy somewhere – from colonisation to post-WWII resettlement, from “populate or perish” to “stop the boats”. Fraser Babies is a riotous space for young migrant voices to breathe outside the box, to perform outside the policy.

Book your tickets now and get ready. We can’t wait to see you there.
