YIRRAMBOI and Arts Centre Melbourne presents..

A spiritual oasis for fringe dwellers, deep thinkers and love-seekers alike. Leave the world at the door and immerse yourself in this healing space celebrating music, love and life for one night only at Arts Centre Melbourne.

Kutjika is the sacred name of Maylene’s late twin sister, Marjorie, given by their Uncle Kuku Yalanji Elder, Edgar ‘Man’ Harris. This performance is a tribute to the depth of healing and grief where Sorry Business turns into healing business. Through a thought-provoking collection of live music, share in the sounds of Maylene Yinarr and leading First Nations musicians including Wemba Wemba rapper Philly and Winner of the Victorian Age Music Awards for Best Indigenous Act, Melbourne R&B Motown band The Deans of Soul.

This event has been designed as a culturally safe space for the whole family, complete with breakout spaces for connecting with a First Nations medium, tarot card reading and meditation by Lulu’s Place of Love & Light, yarning with an Elder or listening to a children’s story read by local favourites.

In partnership with Mindful Mob, an online platform exploring philosophy, spirituality and mindfulness, this event is also home to The Mindful Mob Healing Markets – a marketplace showcasing local First Nations makers including Deadly Mob Services, Gomeroi spiritual healer Lee Couch, Gunai Kurnai healer Stevie Thorpe, Creed Custom Designs by Pitta Pitta and Gungari woman Minelle Creed and many more.

A Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony will take place at the start of the event on the Main Lawn.

Join us under Kutjika, the Evening Star, as we listen, yarn and heal through the power of love and the gift of music.
