Author, cultural critic and rave aficionado McKenzie Wark reimagines her past through a new lens after coming out as trans at age 56.

Australian-born and New York-based, critical theorist McKenzie Wark’s career spans decades. Her numerous groundbreaking works of theory and autofiction traverse subjects including digital media, gaming, raving, Marxism, and her relationship with the late novelist and playwright Kathy Acker.

Wark’s new memoir, Love and Money, Sex and Death, defies convention. Written as a series of letters to influential people in her life, she reflects on how her life has changed since coming out as trans and presents her vision for a world less beholden to the restrictive confines of gender.

In this intimate and expansive conversation, Wark and host Sophie Cunningham will discuss her life and work as a counterculture rebel.
