“Same Words” is a music performance and exhibition by trans creative Vincy Chan (they/he), originally from Hong Kong. “Same Words” is the process of constantly having to repeat yourself to explain the intricacies of your identities and experiences. In this intimate, stripped down, Fringe-exclusive rendition of the set, Vincy will be performing their pop and R&B-influenced originals weaved with personal storytelling about, longing and loss, queer love and heartbreak, migration and workers’ rights.

The music performance will happen in conjunction with an exhibition of Vincy’s illustrations. The collection of new digital artwork is set in a retrofuturist reimagination of Hong Kong that explores moments of queer joy and intimacy in an oppressive environment.
