Experience a moment of respite on World Mental Health Day with the world premiere of Solace, a new digital, sensory experience inspired by State Library Victoria’s contemplative spaces.
Explore a mini-library of interactive sensory artworks curated by collaborating artists, streamed directly to your device.
Listen to whale song at the Redmond Barry Reading Room, follow the white rabbit through bookshelves and squeaking chairs in the iconic Dome, and carve our moments of respite, comfort and imagination.
Auslan interpreters, audio description and tactile tours will be available on the day.
Solace is free to stream on your device. Stay for a moment or for a while, and return as often as you like.
Solace was commissioned as part of State Library Victoria’s Alchemy program, created by Melinda Hetzel & Co and presented by State Library Victoria.
Supported by City of Melbourne Arts Grants and Melbourne Fringe Fund.
