The awards support, develop and recognise excellence in Western Australian writing. These awards are made available by the Western Australian Government and are managed by the State Library of Western Australia.
Magabala Books administer the Daisy Utemorrah Award for Unpublished Indigenous Junior and YA Fiction. This award is open Australia wide and closed on 30 March 2022. Consult their website for more details.
The logo is from an original illustration, “Constellation” by © Moira Court, from the enchanting children’s book My Superhero written by Chris Owen (Fremantle Press) which was shortlisted in 2014 for Best Children’s Book. All the original illustrations from the book can be viewed on the State Library Catalogue (PWC/218) .
