Question everything with Queeries, a night of literature, stand-up, performance, and everything in-between from eight Australian LGBTIQ+ writers, comedians and artists.

Expect a playful mixture of memoir, fiction, poetry and more, as these artists explore and challenge the idea of what it means to live and be ‘natural’, inspired by this year’s Vivid Sydney theme, ‘Naturally’.

First held in 2021, Queeries aims to offer a space for LGBTIQ+ writers and readers to meet and share work, bypassing the need to explain who they are. It’s also a rare opportunity to see leading creatives try something new, with comedians going heartfelt, columnists going comedic and artists going whichever way they please.

Featuring singer-songwriter Montaigne, Guardian columnist Michael Sun, memoirist Bastian Fox Phelan, poet Freya Daly-Sadgrove, novelist Fiona Kelly McGregor, comedian Gen Fricker and screenwriter Vonne Patiag. Hosted by arts critic Jared Richards.

This event is part of Vivid Ideas’ Human Nature series. Challenge the ‘natural’ ways of thinking, and explore the emerging new normals across sex, relationships, body politics, travel and more.
