Deep grooves and next-gen creativity takes centre stage when trailblazers from the worlds of funk, hip hop, soul and future sounds come together for a music event like no other.  No tickets, no barriers, just show up and enjoy!

Lineup:
6.00 pm GRID Series South East Release Party
7.45 pm Srirachi DJ set
8.15 pm Cookin’ On 3 Burners with Stella Angelico and guests

Join us for the GRID Series South East Release Party featuring live sets from our 2025 artists:

  • Soulful storyteller who blends rap, R&B and Afro-infused neo-soul with her South Sudanese roots, M4RTHA.
  • Rising force in melodic/progressive house and indie-dance, Jordz.
  • Fearless freestyle MC who shines with rhythm, presence and raw lyricism, ACP
  • Mauritian-Australian rapper who delivers melodic flows, Kiid Koda.

Headlining is Melbourne’s funk power trio Cookin’ On 3 Burners, whose blend of soul grooves and their signature Hammond organ create music that’s lit up stages across the world. With seven studio albums to draw on, this live show featuring dynamic soul vocalist Stella Angelico is a masterclass in rhythm and energy. Funk never sounded this fresh!

Cookin’ On 3 Burners will be joined by the Demolition Crew of b-girls and b-boys, bringing serious heat to the stage — freestyling, battling and breaking in real time as the band cooks underneath. Expect high-energy footwork, power moves and spontaneous interaction as the Demolition Crew and Cookin’ On 3 Burners push each other, improvise together and turn the whole set into a living, breathing funk-and-breaks throwdown.

Joining the lineup are two trailblazing icons of Australian hip hop – founding member of TZU Joel Ma (Joelistics), and N’fa Jones who made history with ARIA award-winning, group 1200 Techniques. With fire beats, fierce bars and unstoppable energy, Joel and N’fa will ignite the Open Space stage. While bold, genre-defying rising star Srirachi will perform her unique blend of hip hop, pop and club sounds guaranteed to get the crowd on their feet.

Grab dinner from one of the food trucks and join us for a huge night of live music.

It’s all part of Week Six of Open Space at Bunjil Place.
