Why is it only when something is ending that we want to save it?
Simultaneously intimate and epic, Rinse is a solo dance-theatre work co-created and performed by internationally renowned Bundjalung and Ng?puhi artist Amrita Hepi.
Hepi’s electric performance explores the intoxication of new beginnings, and what happens when those initial thrills fade into endless repeating cycles.
In this homecoming performance of an award-winning Australian work and fresh from an acclaimed international tour, Hepi brings together movement and voice to hold what language alone cannot.
Collaborating with acclaimed theatremaker Mish Grigor, Rinse weaves together autobiographical anecdotes on art, feminism and desire to investigate how impossible a fresh start can be. Drawing from references in popular culture and colonial history that are deeply personal – every ending is an invitation to begin. Rinse. Repeat.
Presented by Sydney Opera House
