The 2016 Deakin University David Parkin Oration for Sport and Social Change will be delivered by Caroline Wilson, one of Australia’s most recognisable female sporting personalities.
This distinguished annual Oration honours the significant contribution of Dr David Parkin OAM to Australian society in sport, leadership and education.
In the 35 years since Caroline Wilson has been covering football, the game has changed. Once a male domain, Caroline has played a key part in bridging the gap and breaking down barriers, proving women can win, not just play, in a man’s world.
The David Parkin Oration is a free public event that looks to promote the advancement of public knowledge by exploring the challenges and opportunities for sport to act as a driver of social change. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from Caroline as she reflects on her journey sharing her triumphs and tribulations that have led to social change in a male arena.
