MONKEY BAA THEATRE COMPANY

Millions of young people around the world have adored the multi award-winning picture book, Diary of a Wombat. Now finally this iconic work by Australian Children’s Laureate (2014/15), Jackie French and Bruce Whatley comes to the stage.

Meet Mothball, the naughtiest wombat in Australia. Bored with her daily routine, Mothball goes in search of shelter and food, creating chaos in the lives of the humans around her.

Watch a video of Mothball in action!

Doormats, bins and washing lines are no match for this mischievous marsupial. Between a packed schedule of scratching, sleeping and eating Mothball discovers that with a bit of persistence, humans are quite easily trained!

Monkey Baa Director Eva Di Cesare and a team of revered artists including Puppetry and Movement Director Alice Osborne (War Horse 2012/13), Designer Imogen Ross (Hitler’s Daughter) and accomplished composer/cellist Oonagh Sherrard use the magic of puppetry and live music to bring this delightful story for ages 2+ to the stage.

Please note: this event is suitable for patrons aged 2+.

Relaxed Performance – Saturday 28 October, 3pm

Some little ones might be easily scared, have a learning disability or just find it hard to follow theatre conventions. They’re especially welcome at 3pm on Saturday 28 October.

Lights remain low, loud noises are softened and they can leave and enter at any time. There is minimal dialogue in this show.

This performance will be AUSLAN interpreted.
