The roar of the crowds is deafening – our Super Hero kids look and feel incredible. Dazzling in their matching outfits, they smile and wave at the cameras and civilians, who are devoted to the Heroes they grew to know and adore.
As FISH BOY and FIRE DYKE grow older, they grow bitter, greedy and ravenous for cash. After squandering all their ‘hard earned’ money, they go broke. Their powers disappeared after lack of practise, and now they are left helpless in a world that doesn’t need, or want them.
FISH BOY and FIRE DYKE spent their youths fighting MRS. SPARKPLUG, the Super Villain turned Super Lawyer, who seeks only the truth and nothing but it. MATT, an ordinary nepo baby boy, discovered our Super Heroes in High School, whilst enjoying the fruits of his wealthy family.
When the funds finally run dry; how do two unemployed, ex-Super Hero, child stars make a living?
FISH BOY and FIRE DYKE is a dark dramedy play that dissects nepotism, transphobia, racism and capitalism, creating clowns of the rich and famous. FISH BOY and FIRE DYKE serves to champion voices within the Trans community.
This project received Cash for Equity through the Fringe Fund, as part of the Ralph Mclean Microgrants program.
