Discover what the world is like without sight or sound …. In the lead up to Jodee Mundy’s extraordinary production Imagined Touch, Arts House is presenting Silent Supper Club.
Hosted by artist and director Jo Dunbar, guests include writer and poet Quinn Eades, co-founder of The Delta Project, Anna Seymour and photographer Kate Disher Quill.
Silent Supper Club will look at expressive forms of non-spoken communication – Auslan, tactile experiences and live captioning.
Join us for some extraordinarily good food and experience a silent dinner that is full of words. This Supper Club will have an Auslan interpreter present for Q and A and live captioning.
Imagined Touch opens at Arts House on Wednesday 7 September and tickets are almost sold out. Featuring Deafblind artists Heather Lawson and Michelle Stevens, Imagined Touch is a unique and immersive shared experience – a tactile and visceral step into each other’s worlds, through live art, theatre and sensory performance.
Experiencing the artists’ stories and performance in a profoundly different sensory environment, participants literally meet Lawson and Stevens through an imagined touch of the senses – and leave with a new awareness of the other and themselves.
