Three of the Australia’s most insightful filmmakers – Alena Lodkina, Goran Stolevski and Thomas M. Wright – discuss their Gala and Competition Films.

Jason Di Rosso (The Screen Show, ABC Radio National) leads a conversation with three of the brightest and most exciting filmmakers from this year’s festival. Featuring Alena Lodkina (Strange Colours, MIFF 2018; Lightning Ridge: The Land of Black Opals, MIFF 2017; There Is No Such Thing as a Jellyfish, MIFF 2014), whose latest film Petrol screens in our Bright Horizons Competition following its world premiere at Locarno; Goran Stolevski (Would You Look at Her, MIFF 2018; You Deserve Everything, MIFF 2016), whose Of an Age was chosen as this year’s Opening Night Gala, and whose Sundance-premiering You Won’t Be Alone also screens; and Thomas M. Wright (Acute Misfortune, MIFF Premiere Fund 2018), discussing his already internationally acclaimed Bright Horizons Competition nominee The Stranger, which recently premiered at Cannes.

MIFF In Conversation events will be held at official venue partner The Edge at Fed Square.
