Circus performer Sarah Houbolt brings you a quirky new story of the history of side show, through the lens of intriguing female performer, Minnie Woolsley, who played KooKoo the Birdgirl in Tod Browning’s cult classic film Freaks (1932).

KooKoo the Birdgirl is a bizarre, visceral, haunting yet subversively funny performance that goes straight to the heart of the historical freak show.
