True stories, told live. The Moth’s extraordinary international live storytelling event returns to Melbourne Fringe, giving yarn-spinners from across our fine city the chance to take to the stage and reveal their true tales. With storytellers chosen at random, the night could go in any direction – tales of heartache and woe, joy and power, curiosity, faith, hope. Come join us for a sit, a drink and share in the simple act of telling a story to a room of strangers. Whether you’re ready to step in front of the mic and bare your soul, or prefer to sit on the sidelines and take it all in, this StorySlam will give you all the feels and then probably a few more.
This year’s theme is DISCOVERY:
Prepare a five-minute story about unearthing truth. Revelations that rocked your world and changed your mind. Moments of eureka in a cave or in therapy, through careful analysis or dumb luck. Learning something brand new or finding something you probably should have recognized all along.
Warning: Contains coarse language, adult themes
