Leaps & Bounds and MzRizk present an all-ages matinee show with the HALO Vocal Ensemble and Eliza Hull performing live at The Corner Hotel and you’re all invited!
A joyous show that welcomes all music lovers including parents, guardians, their children, and those that prefer a daytime concert of epic proportions!
HALO Vocal Ensemble will be “taking you to church” with their reimagined arrangements of modern RnB, Soul, Jazz, Gospel and Hip-Hop Classics! Directed by powerhouse Liona Tatafu, HALO Vocal Ensemble features a diverse line-up of artists from different communities across Melbourne to perform collaboratively & simultaneously on one stage. Putting a modern spin on the definition of choir, HALO Vocal Ensemble are thrilled to be returning to the stage for an intimate live performance at The Corner performing reimagined favourites from the likes of Kanye West, Chaka Khan, Outkast, Kirk Franklin, Nina Simone and Destiny’s Child. Having previously sold out their hugely successful shows at Melbourne Music Week x Melbourne Museum Summer Plaza Series in January 2021, Melbourne International Jazz Festival (2021), and MOOMBA (2021, 2022), this is not a show to miss!
Award-winning musician, writer and disability advocate Eliza Hull is bringing her stirring and heartfelt sounds to the Corner stage with her band. Recently awarded the Music Victoria Amplify award, the APRA mentorship for women in music and the National Leadership Award from the Australia Council and Arts Access Australia, Eliza will be performing songs from her extensive catalogue with her fifth studio record coming out in 2022 featuring the single “Running Under Water”, which was performed live on Q&A on ABC TV. Eliza’s songs are featured in ABC KIDS TV show ‘And Then Something Changed,’ ABC ‘The Heights’ and American TV shows ‘Awkward, ‘Teen Wolf’ and ‘Saving Hope.’ Eliza is fresh from Austin, Texas where she spoke on a panel about accessibility in the music industry and performed at SXSW Festival with Sounds Australia.
Pioneering Lebanese Australian DJ, radio presenter and event curator, MzRizk is a self-taught, community emboldened, creative chameleon who has garnered widespread acclaim as one of Melbourne’s most respected disco, house, hip hop, jazz, soul and Arabic music savants! MzRizk will be starting the party!
This double bill of exquisite vocals and harmonies is not to be missed so get in early!
