The Paramor Prize: Art + Innovation was launched in memory of Wendy Paramor, one of Australia’s most loved and celebrated modern female artists in 2015. Paramor exemplified the artistic creativity of the Liverpool region through her innovative forward-thinking arts practice. A large collection of her works were bequeathed to Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre (CPAC) and the Liverpool City Art, Heritage and Local Studies Collection.
Innovation is one of the guiding principles of Liverpool City Council. The Liverpool City Council’s vision is to be at the forefront of opportunity, prosperity and diversity. The Paramor Prize provides a chance to develop new solutions as well as creative explorations of current challenges and opportunities in the rapidly growing South West Sydney region.
The Paramor Prize is an acquisitive prize of $20,000. A shortlisted selection of finalists will be exhibited at CPAC. Winners will be selected by a panel of guest judges. A $5000 Mayoral Award will be issued to the artwork that best conveys the guiding principles of Liverpool City Council. A $1000 People’s Choice Award will be issued to the artwork voted most popular among audiences.
