Celebrating the world premiere of his new moving image work Broken Spectre, 2022, Irish artist Richard Mosse with his long-time collaborator, Australian composer Ben Frost, shares insights into the making of the work in a special after-hours conversation hosted by NGV Curator of Contemporary Art, Amita Kirpalani.
Filmed over three years, Broken Spectre is a powerful response to the devastating and ongoing impact of deforestation in the Amazon Rainforest presented across an immersive 20-metre widescreen panorama.
The evening includes a glass of wine on arrival provided by Yering Station and an exclusive opportunity to view the work from 5.30–6.45pm, before its world premiere to the public on Friday 30 September.
Limited copies of the accompanying book that documents the project through powerful photographic works will be available for purchase, including a book signing with the artist.
