Drawing on his latest book, Empathy: Why It Matters and How to Get It, cultural thinker and internationally acclaimed empathy expert Roman Krznaric reveals how empathy Рthe art of stepping into the shoes of another person and seeing the world from their perspective Рcan not only enrich personal life but create wider social change.

Roman will deliver a sermon-style keynote On Empathy. Discussing everything from the empathy experiments of George Orwell to developments in neuroscience and industrial design, from the struggle against slavery in the eighteenth century to the Middle East crisis today, Roman will explore six different ways we can turn our empathic potential into a powerful tool for change.

Roman Krznaric On Empathy is presented in association with The Guardian, Wired For Wonder, The Conversation, Sydney Theatre Company and Sydney Opera House.
