SOPHISTICATED LADY: A NIGHTCAP WITH BILLIE, JUDY & ELLA

The place is New York City, and the year is 1958. We are in a dingy but charming dive bar, with no certainty which side of midnight we are on.

As musicians throughout the city head home from their gigs, three singers on the look out for something to eat and somewhere to put their feet up all wind up in the same place. Billie Holiday, Judy Garland and Ella Fitzgerald walk into a bar. It begins like a bad joke. But it ends with all three iconic women touched by the poignant realisation that they have more in common than they first thought.
