When a brother and sister turn out the lights for the night, they are swept into a world of imagination – a portal to their Dreaming. Seeking an elusive Bogong Moth, they journey into an extraordinary world where Country shares its secrets. In this place, the past speaks through stars, trees, and grass. Healing begins in the silence between breaths.

The Bogong’s Song is a rich blend of storytelling, shadow puppetry, dance, and song created especially for children and their families. As the children open their hearts to the stories of their ancestors, all are invited to experience connection to Country and discover that even the smallest creatures have a vital role to play. This brand-new work from Yolande Brown and Chenoa Deemal follows Bangarra’s award-winning Waru–journey of the small turtle, which enthralled more than 25,000 children.

Featuring Benjin Maza and Tjilala Brown-Roberts, whose talents in dance, music, and spoken word bring this warm-hearted story to life—The Bogong’s Song invites young audiences to listen, reflect, and wonder.

Audio Description & Tactile Tour
Bangarra Dance Theatre and The Pavilion are offering an Audio Described performance of The Bogong’s Song for people with vision impairment or other sensory disability. Audio Description will happen at the 1:30pm performance.

Bangarra have designed these events in a way that creatively weaves aural description of physical, tactile and visual elements, story, and cultural references into the experience of attending a Bangarra performance.

Following the 1:30pm performance, there will be a tactile tour for patrons with vision impairment or other sensory disability.
