Presenting artists of SIGNAL Young Creatives Lab 2025:

Claudia Leonard

‘The Moon Has Ascended Upon Us’ is an immersive installation using projected animation, motion sensor interaction, sculpture and sound design. The work explores cycles of renewal in nature, drawing from the ocean, sun and the moon.

Liwen Lian

‘Hyper Birrarung’ is a Digital Ecology is a multimedia installation exploring our relationship with the Birrarung (Yarra River) within its urban context. The project invites mindful observation of non-human life in the city while celebrating the waterway’s role in shaping the environment.

Rosina Yuan

Through a projected installation, Rosina Yuan performs a live Virtual Reality (VR) painting experience that examines themes of “digital presence” and “digital landscape.” Her gestural approach to the digital medium is deeply influenced by her experiences in New Zealand as well as oil painting and Chinese brush-and-ink traditions.

Yogashree

‘EAT’ is a stage play examining the experience of an eating disorder through the lens of cultural expectations and family love. The play’s non-linear narrative structure reflects the fragmented nature of grief, depicted in the play along with the impact eating disorders have on ourselves and those closest to us.
